Cubo Side Table: A Contemporary Nod to the Past

Cubo Side Table

Inspired by the shagreen end tables of the 1980s, our new Cubo Side Table has been brought up to date in a clean, modern design. Our new end table has a smooth, rounded shape that is all at once classic and contemporary. Made so that it’s ambiguous design-wise, the Cubo can be cast in a modern, traditional, or eclectic space and call it home. Learn more about our new Cubo side table here:

Ahead of the Curve

With its more substantial silhouette offset by a smooth, curved design, the Cubo is all at once geometric and elegant. A rounded top and base also make it multi-functional, as both surfaces can be used to carry drinks, books, plants, or décor pieces. A versatile piece, the Cubo can be positioned in different directions in a room to create entirely different aesthetics. Seen from behind, it appears as a solid round table. Styled to be seen from the side, and you glimpse its wonderfully crafted cut-out shape. Placing it with its two rounds facing forward, and an entirely new shape emerges.

The Cubo is truly a celebration of curves and is a wonderfully simple yet interesting shape to introduce into your next residential or commercial design project.

Style and Strength

Like most of Stone Yard’s pieces, the Cubo can be placed indoors or outdoors with ease. Style the Cubo in between two chairs in a living room or den (as our head designer Mitch Brean envisions it) or place it outdoors in an alfresco living space. The Cubo Side Table is available in your choice of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) or Fiberstone, both of which are known for their strength and durability in outdoor environments.

Both materials also provide the same look and feel of natural stone or concrete, but at a fraction of the weight (75% lighter for GFRC, and more than 30% lighter for Fiberstone). The lighter weight makes this table easier to move into place and when redesigning your space. And both commercial-grade materials make this table weather- and chip-resistant for high-use applications, like hotels and public places.

Complementary Pieces

Designed with the same aesthetic as our Cubo Console, the Cubo Side Table can be styled on its own or in conjunction with this piece. Both pieces have a clean, smooth design that works well in both minimalist and maximalist settings, as their simple silhouettes are malleable to match most design schemes.

How Will You Style Your Cubo Table?

Aside from your two material options, you also have the choice of customizing your handcrafted Cubo table in one of our 13 unique finishes. From neutrals like Natural and Tiza to the darker hues of the Oxido and Ferric, each finish is hand-applied in careful layers by our expert artisans, capturing a look that is utterly unique to each client.
